THE SPREAD OF UNDERGROUND FIRE AT PEATBOGS OF TYASMYN RIVER

Abstract

The article deals with the investigation of the speed of the spread of underground fires at peatbogs of Tyasmyn river. The analysis of materials of hydrogeol ogical expedition at Cherkassy  (schemes of turf -pits, depth and thi ckness of the occurrence of turf at folds) affords to determine the value of peat of each fold and the area of the speed of underground fire of peatbogs in Tyasmyn river basin, Cherkaska region. Resul ts of the analysis are described in the table.  For experimental investigations samples of peat were taken from the depth of 2 m, with the degree of decay – 55%. The investigations of the speed of volumetric expansion of underground fire of peatbogs are shown in the article. All invest i gations were done in gas-smoke camera using the criteria of Veber and Arkhimed. The speed of volumetric expansion of underground fire of peatbogs depends on the kind of a peat and a capacity of layer. Taking all the results of investigations the forecast of expansion of fire of peatbogs of Tyasmyn river.
