Abstract
The article deals with a method determining fire resistance of unprotected steel columns loaded centrally by compressive strength with considering changes of the heated metal mechanical characteristics. Using the method of successive approximations it is suggested to determine the lengthwise flexion indexes. The example shows that the fire resistance of unprotected steel columns is less then fire resistance determined without considering column heat temperature.
