Abstract

In the article analysis of fire hazard of religious buildings and requirements of current normative and legal documents in Ukraine relating to their designing are presented. The main issues of fire safety of religious buildings in exploitation are analyzed. Classification of Christian religious buildings on the basis of statistical data analysis of fires in churches was provided, their main causes are displayed. Proposals concerning ways of improved fire protection of existing churches in Ukraine are presented.
