SELF-EXTINGUISHING EPOXY-AMINE COMPOSITIONS MODIFIED BY COPPER(II) SULPHATE: MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY AND COMBUSTIBLE PROPERTIES
Abstract
Self-extinguishing epoxy-amine composite materials, modified by copper (II) sulphate have been elaborated. Manufacturing technology of compositions has been described and the complex assessment of their combustibility has been carried out. The results of the experimental determination of flammability group, ignition temperature and flame spread velocity on the model, placed horizontally have been given for unmodified composite material and composition with added copper (II) sulphate It is conjectured that the effect of lowering the combustibility of modified epoxyamine composite is due to the formation of strong coordination bonds arising between the copper atoms and nitrogen atoms of the amine hardener.
