Abstract

The most significant fires that occurred at dumps and solid waste landfills in Ukraine have been considered. A list of hazardous substances released during the burning debris has been established. The effect of combustion products of wastes on human health and vegetation was analyzed. Burning of wastes leads to emission of toxic products and absorbing them by living organisms. Hazardous substances that are released during the burning of dumps poison living organisms, adversely affect the human body and vegetation.
