MATHEMATICAL MODEL OF STEAM-GAS-MIXTURE FIREFIGHTING EXPERIMENTAL ADEQUACY VERIFICATION
Abstract
The article deals with the experimental studies of gas-vapor mixture impact on the fires. The studies were held in the chamber for determination of firefighting efficiency. The adequacy of the mathematical model was confirmed during the studies. It is established that the burning process causes 2% reduce of the concentration of oxygen in the fire, while using the steam causes the 10% decrease, which allows stopping the fire. Despite the decrease in the fire temperature to 100-200 C, it maintains at that level for a long time and only after 1.5 hours decreases to less than 100 C because of the long-time cooling of chamber walls and metal conductors.
