UTILIZATION OF TIOSULPHATE SODIUM WITH OBTAINING RADIATION- PROTECTIVE MATERIALS
Abstract
The article deals with a comprehensive solution of the new radiation- protective materials development and utilization of products of large tones of waste of coke-chemical industry. The aim of the work is the investigation of the analysis of the radiation- protective properties of polymeric sulphur, obtained by the acid conversion of tiosuJphate sodium with oligomeric iongeneous surface-active substances. It is established that the coefficient-of attenuation of the ionizing emission grows with an increase of the molecular weight of polymer. This is caused by the decrease of binding energy between the atoms of measure in the macromolecule. The obtained results can serve as basis for developing the new technology of polymeric sulphur as cheap effective radiation- shielding material.
